Immigration Immigration raid

On April 16, 2008 U.S. Attorney John Ratcliffe led one of the nation’s largest worksite enforcement actions -resulting in the arrest of more than 300 illegal aliens in a single day. “Operation Plymouth Rock” led to the successful prosecution of hundreds of illegal aliens who committed identity theft and social security fraud to unlawfully gain employment. As the result of John’s efforts, the company which hired the illegal aliens paid a $4.5 million criminal penalty.

TerrorismUSA Ratcliffe

U.S. Attorney John Ratcliffe served on the Attorney General’s Advisory Subcommittee on Terrorism and National Security, where he helped to formulate and revise DOJ’s anti-terrorism strategies. John also served by special appointment in U.S. v. Holy Land Foundation, one the nation’s largest terrorism financing cases. Throughout his DOJ tenure, John served as the Chief of the Anti-Terrorism and National Security Section for the Eastern District of Texas, where he personally managed dozens of international and domestic terrorism investigations.

Stopping Child Predators

John Ratcliffe prosecuted dozens of individuals on child exploitation charges including the convictions of a Frisco teacher and Nacogdoches sheriff’s deputy on possession of child pornography.

Organized Crime/Drug Trafficking

During John’s tenure as U.S. Attorney, hundreds of drug dealers, cartel members and East Texas methamphetamine producers were taken out of our neighborhoods and sent to prison. “Operation Icebox” resulted in one of the largest meth prosecutions in Texas history.

Public Corruption

John has shown zero tolerance for public officials and civil servants who abuse their power. Under his watch, an Assistant District Attorney, multiple sheriff’s deputies and constables were all convicted on fraud and corruption charges.

Balancing Budgets

As a Texas mayor, the worst economic recession of our lifetime didn’t stop John from balancing eight straight budgets without raising taxes. He also successfully operated and managed a $12 million budget allocated to him by the U.S. Department of Justice.

Supporting Our TroopsHeath Mayor

As mayor of Heath, Texas Ratcliffe created a “Hometown Heroes” recognition program to honor soldiers returning from active duty. These brave men and women were recognized at the City Council meeting and presented with a Welcome Home Challenge Coin. Their families were also thanked for their sacrifices.
