Ratcliffe Authored Executive Amnesty Prevention Act to Stop Lawless President

Washington, DC - Congressman John Ratcliffe reacted to news Tuesday that the Supreme Court would hear a case to challenge the legality of President Obama’s executive actions on immigration by reinforcing the need to use all possible avenues to stop the lawless President.

“While I’m grateful that the judicial system has up to this point blocked this executive amnesty, we’ve seen too many times over the past year how we cannot rely on the Supreme Court to defend our conservative values,” said Ratcliffe.  “That’s why I refused to fund the President’s unconstitutional executive amnesty at every possible turn and also introduced my own bill – the Executive Amnesty Prevention Act to dismantle these executive orders.  Now, more than ever, we need legislation like this to ensure that our nation’s immigration laws can’t be circumvented by the pen and the phone.”

Ratcliffe has spent his career opposing amnesty.  As U.S. Attorney, he once arrested over 300 illegal aliens in a single day who were using identity theft to steal jobs from hard-working Texans.  In Congress, this commitment has resulted in him being ranked the most conservative representative from Texas by Heritage Action.
