President Trump signs Ratcliffe bill to support law enforcement

WASHINGTON, D.C. – President Trump signed Congressman Ratcliffe’s bill into law – the Strengthening State and Local Cyber Crime Fighting Act of 2017 (H.R. 1616).

Recognizing that there is increasingly a digital component to every crime, this legislation gives state and local law enforcement the training and resources they need to effectively tackle cyber crime and keep our communities safe.

Said Ratcliffe on the bill’s enactment into law:

“Here’s the bottom line – this bill is pro-law enforcement and helps our country keep pace with our cyber adversaries. I came to Congress to actually solve problems, and am grateful for the widespread support this legislation received. I’m out to prove every single day that it is indeed possible to be conservative and effective.”
