Rockwall, TX – Congressman John Ratcliffe has helped lead the charge in Congress against amnesty by refusing to fund the President’s executive actions on immigration, and by voting to strip federal funding from so called “sanctuary cities.”
For Ratcliffe, enforcing our nation’s immigration laws has been a lifelong commitment. As U.S. Attorney, he earned notoriety for coordinating an operation that arrested over 300 illegal aliens in a single day who were using identity theft to steal jobs from hard-working Texans. As the result of his efforts, the company which hired the illegal aliens paid a $4.5 million criminal penalty.
“Many people talk tough on immigration, but fewer actually put their money where their mouth is,” said Ratcliffe. “I am opposed to amnesty – period. But don’t just take my word on it. Ask any of the over 300 illegal aliens I arrested in a single day.”
On April 16, 2008, “Operation Plymouth Rock” led to the successful prosecution of hundreds of illegal aliens who committed identity theft and social security fraud to unlawfully gain employment. To date, it’s one of the nation’s largest work site enforcement actions ever conducted.
Ratcliffe’s proven record of opposing amnesty has earned him the endorsement of Senator Ted Cruz who said, “John has quickly built a strong record of fighting for taxpayers by pushing for a balanced budget, opposing increases in the national debt limit, and working to defund the President’s illegal and unconstitutional executive amnesty.”
